Resumo: Smart Cities and Smart Tourist Destinations are a new concept that arises from the need to innovate through technology, in order to be able to develop both cities and destinations within the different axes that DTIs have (Governance, Innovation, Accessibility, Technology and Sustainability) and thus benefit its citizens and visitors. This research seeks, from the comparison of four Latin American cities in different phases of development and implementation of the DTI model, to be able to propose actions and good practices so that the city of Santo Domingo advances in its smart tourist destination strategy. To do this, a qualitative methodology has been followed through bibliographic reviews, comparative analysis of the actions carried out by the cities in the case study and interviews with three professionals in the area of ??tourism and knowledge in DTIs. Thus, it has been bequeathed to the conclusion of the weaknesses that some indicators have in the city of Santo Domingo and the appropriate way to improve them.
