Resumo: As a result of the health crisis in 2020 and 2021, the museums remained closed to prevent the spread of the virus, which caused economic losses in terms of the generation of resources and work. The objective of the research is to analyze the way museums operate because of the pandemic. A descriptive methodology of analytical type was used to study the phenomenon, object of study through secondary sources such as articles, and all kinds of documents related to the subject. In conclusion, museums have had to reinvent themselves by coming together between the past and the future, as well as the face-to-face with the virtual, developing their social function and vocation.
