Resumo: The 'Kilometer of Art' in Churriana de la Vega (Granada) is an open-air museum that began in 1999 with a sculpture in tribute to the bullfighter Frascuelo. From then on, other works have been incorporated in, some of which include tributes on important issues for the municipality. This article analyzes this model of tourism and heritage management. As a methodology, the following points are examined: The museographic discourse carried out; the achievement of the planned objectives; phase in which the museum area is located. Among the results, the aesthetic vision of Churriana de la Vega has been improved; it has established itself as a space of relevant contemporary artistic interest; It has contributed to a closer view of the historical intangible heritage of the municipality and to value contemporary art. Now is the phase of encouraging visits by developing a museum and a tourism project for the area. In relation to the discussion, the results are compared with national and international recommendations for heritage protection. In conclusion, it has been confirmed the great benefit that 'Kilometer of Art' has had in the municipality. The open-air museum model has helped to improve the quality of life of the population.
