Resumo: This article The pandemic, declared in March 2020, meant a drastic change in trend in the peer-to-peer (p2p) market for tourist accommodation, which, until then, had experienced exponential growth. In this context, the objective of this work is to determine whether the propositions that had been established about this market before the pandemic are still valid. The methodology used consists in the presentation of some initial conjectures, to later verify them with the analysis of research on the subject providing quantitative estimates and relevant arguments. The results confirm that there were drops in demand, supply and prices due to the pandemic that seem to have contributed to the containment of long-term rental prices. All this allows us to conclude that, in a phase of strong contraction, economic analysis maintains its ability to understand the functioning of the p2p market.
