Resumo: The use of natural spaces for tourism and recreational activities has been going on for decades, but post-modernity has given a strong impetus to this situation. These activities carried out over long periods of time generate impacts on local geodiversity and biodiversity. Considering this, the aim of the study is to identify the social actors who practice tourist-recreational and sporting activities in the southern mountainous area of Tandil (Argentina), and their attitudes and behaviours, in order to assess the potential effects on geodiversity and biodiversity. To achieve this, secondary sources, surveys and interviews were used. As a result, it is possible to say that although there is interest and awareness of the potential impacts on the environment, the lack of planning, studies and specific analysis of the conditions of use, together with the increase in the number of visitors, can have negative effects on the natural heritage.
