In the southwest of the province of Santa Cruz, there is the town of Ri?o Turbio, which together with the town of 28 de Noviembre and the Julia Dufour area, make up the so-called Carboniferous Basin, 5 km away. from the border with Chile, framed in an environment of great natural beauty and strategically located in a tourist corridor, between two places of
international tourism, such as the Perito Moreno Glacier (El Calafate, Argentina) and the Torres del Paine National Park (Chile).
This work highlights the tourist potential offered by Rio Turbio, for people interested in bird watching (birdwatching), identifying the best places to carry out this activity, the species to observe and favoring the knowledge and care of the emblematic species of the place like the Andean condor. In addition, other activities related to birds are mentioned, which are being developed in the area.
Finally, a circuit for bird watching is proposed and measures that allow its development with a low investment, for this the information available in research studies, the specific bibliography regarding the behavior of birds has been considered and it has been verified with data from country.
