Resumo: Tabasco, a state in southeastern Mexico, has different types of handicrafts, among which the “embroidered strip” is contemplated, which represents part of its culture, identification and belonging. The research objective was to know the roots and customs through the “embroidered strips” as part of the cultural identity, to be considered a heritage. A mixed investigation was carried out in which it was possible to conclude that there is little diffusion and minimal actions to promote the product and the perception of crafts as cultural heritage and as a potential tourist resource. In this sense, it is recommended to promote it to integrate it into the tourist offer of the destination both at a regional and national level and to make it a first-rate tourist attraction.
