Resumo: This article analyzes the possible impacts of the new Light Rail Train 3 on the agglomeration of hospitality services in Guadalajara, Mexico; as well as the possibilities of stimulating the formation of competitive urban districts around the train stations. The article is based on statistical data on hospitality and food establishments, as well as interviews conducted with owners and employees of hotels located in the direct impact areas of each station. Results of this analysis suggest that impacts will be differentiated. While they have the potential of inducing additional concentration of hotels in the central area, they may also create opportunities for smaller agglomerations aimed at specific niche markets.
