Resumo: The paper addresses tourist lodging accommodations as an essential part of the tourism phenomenon in the city of Buenos Aires. The characteristics of the different forms of accommodations, the legal instruments and their evolution are described and analyzed. In turn, the social practices of tourists are analyzed through the different types of tourist accommodations in order to gain insight into the levels of social integration. A qualitative methodology is used based on in-depth interviews and documentary and statistical analysis is also carried out based on regulations and data from public tourism agencies. The study found that different levels of social interactions can be observed according to each type of accommodation, denoting a connection between the accommodation and the social relations that emerge from the practices of tourists.
