Resumo: Este trabalho discute a importância do Patrimônio Imaterial no Turismo Cultural, evidenciando o Bumba-meu-boi do Maranhão, candidato ao título de Patrimônio Imaterial da Humanidade. Abordando temas primordiais como, turismo, turismo cultural, patrimônio imaterial e educação patrimonial, além dos aspectos históricos e culturais do Maranhão. Torna-se possível a identificação da importância da imaterialidade nos atrativos turísticos nacionais com o Bumba-meu-boi na tradição junina, que envolve fé e devoção. Após análise de aspectos históricos e da relação do atrativo com a sociedade, e com o turismo, tem por objetivo a preservação e manutenção do patrimônio cultural. Sendo o turismo um exercício capaz de promover a educação patrimonial em todo país, busca-se através da realização de produtos turísticos manutenção da cultura. Apresenta base teórica em pesquisa bibliográfica na segmentação a turística e patrimonial, possibilitando destaque na interação dos autóctones com o patrimônio.Palavras-chave: Turismo. Cultura. Maranhão.The immateriality in cultural tourism maranhense: the Bumba-meu-boi cultural complexAbstractThis work discusses the importance of Intangible Heritage in Cultural Tourism, evidencing the Bumba-meu-boi do Maranhão, candidate for the title of Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Addressing key themes such as tourism, cultural tourism, intangible heritage and heritage education, in addition to the historical and cultural aspects of Maranhão. It becomes possible to identify the importance of immateriality in the national tourist attractions with Bumba-meu-boi in the June tradition, which involves faith and devotion in themes of the past, present and future. Registered in the book of fall of the Institute of Brazilian Artistic and Cultural Heritage, as a cultural complex by the popular aspect encompassing in every state of Maranhão in a material and immaterial character. Its objective is the preservation and maintenance of cultural heritage, with tourism being an exercise capable of promoting heritage education in every country. It presents a theoretical basis in bibliographical research in the tourism and heritage segmentation, making it possible to highlight the interaction of the native inhabitants with the patrimony.Keywords: Tourism.
