Resumo: The residential tourism model has developed over the last decades around the Spanish coast, boosting the economy and creating jobs. After the crisis of 2007 and the cessation of the construction sector, we wonder how tourism has been affected, focusing on the region Vega Baja del Segura in the province of Alicante, one of the places in Spain where construction associated with tourism has had a greater impact. In this article we draw on a study ethnographic fieldwork, and we analyze aspects such as the arrival of tourists, employment data, consumption, return tourists, occupation of homes and delinquencies.
