Resumo: The growing number of disabled people and the implementation of public policies promoting inclusiveness during the democracy in Spain required of a gradual adaptation of the law regarding the life and rights of this group of people. Together with the labor and professional rights, governments put also attention to everyday life and leisure, particularly tourism.
This paper aims to analyze the evolution of legislation on touristic accessibility and the impact on tourist attractions accessible for everybody on Murcia.
The results show an advance legislation consistent with European and international recommendations on disability. However, this legislation proves insufficient to increase the number of accessible sites and activities for disable people.
