Resumo: Nowadays, there are several scientific-based studies and investigations which analyse the potential of Spain as a worldwide-tourist market. It is based on the enormous variety of resources which the country offers and that play as an attraction factor, giving an answer to several motivations and expectations created by the touristic demand. Maybe this success, which has contributed to place Spain between the three main touristic destinations worldwide, has damaged the creation of investigations referring to the touristic movements of Spaniards outside their country.
In spite of that, the current document tries to analyse and study different facts related to sending tourists to the world, looking into the reasons which cause that the potential inbound tourism is more relevant than the outbound tourism. Additionally, the limited documentation about the aforesaid fact and other ones related to it is analyzed, such as: knowing the main countries which send tourists to the world and the position of Spain between them, means of transport used by Spaniards in these trips, the destination the most visited, Autonomous Community where the tourists come from, time of the year to travel, etc.
